If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn. - Ignacio Estrada

How to Engage Underperforming Students Through Interactive Learning
1. Essential Question - Students have to be able to answer focus question at the end of the class. (informal assessment)
2. Activating Strategy - Use effective teaching strategies to motivate students during lesson (What are you going to do as a teacher to whet student appetite to want to learn what you are teaching them?)
3. Limited Lecture - Research says that students can only maintain their attention span for their age plus 2 or 3 minutes. When that time has elapsed, teachers must stop and have students do something.
4. Graphic Organizer - e.g. Fayer Model
